Program Description:
The Department of Computer Science offers graduate study that leads to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The mission of the department is to provide formal education in the core disciplines of computer science as well as to prepare our graduates for research, development, and academic careers. The department offers specific expertise in specialized research areas, such as, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence and knowledge representation, software engineering and programming languages, computer and wireless networks, parallel computing, interval computations, algorithms and theory of computing.
International Student Requirements:
International applicants submitting foreign post-secondary level transcripts are required to have their credentials evaluated by a recognized member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NMSU requires a comprehensive course by course evaluation. In addition, international students must submit an English language proficiency exam (either TOEFL or IELTS.)
