Program Information
Degree Offered
M.S.;, Ph.D.
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers programs leading to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in the areas of physical, organic, inorganic, biological, and analytical chemistry.
An advantage NMSU has over other programs is the small student to faculty ratio compared with similar programs, which results in small group and individual research. Consequently, NMSU graduates are successful in finding employment in academia, government, and industrial laboratories, and in advancing in their careers in chemistry and biochemistry.
International Student Requirements:
International applicants submitting foreign post-secondary level transcripts are required to have their credentials evaluated by a recognized member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NMSU requires a comprehensive course by course evaluation. In addition, international students must submit an English language proficiency exam (either TOEFL or IELTS.)
