Program Description:
The Department of Special Education/Communication Disorders offers graduate study leading to MA, EdS, EdD, and PhD degrees.
This program is designed for students with career goals as master special education teachers, special education consultants and directors, educational diagnosticians, school psychologists, and speech-language pathologists in school, community, and medical settings or as higher education faculty in the fields of special education (SPED) and communication disorders.
International Student Requirements:
International applicants submitting foreign post-secondary level transcripts are required to have their credentials evaluated by a recognized member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NMSU requires a comprehensive course by course evaluation. In addition, international students must submit an English language proficiency exam (either TOEFL or IELTS.)
