Program Description:
The Department of Health Science offers the Master of Public Health (MPH), in Community Health Education, designed to prepare public health professionals in the breadth of public health practice and community health education. The program prepares public health professionals to function in various settings, including health programs at the local, state, and federal government levels; profit and nonprofit organizations and agencies; work site settings; and educational institutions. The program also prepares health educators to lead in efforts that improve the health of communities— especially along the border and rural areas of the southwest; and in community activities through health education research.
International Student Requirements:
International applicants submitting foreign post-secondary level transcripts are required to have their credentials evaluated by a recognized member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NMSU requires a comprehensive course by course evaluation. In addition, international students must submit an English language proficiency exam (either TOEFL or IELTS.)
