Program Description:
New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) is a partnership involving New Jersey community colleges and New Jersey City University, with the support of the New Jersey Department of Education. The Alternate Route in New Jersey allows individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) and a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) to become a licensed teachers without having to complete a traditional teacher training. The program can be completed within a year and NJCU accepts between 12-15 credits towards completion of one of its masters degrees.
