Program Description:
The Master of Science in Education is designed for teachers in K-12 settings who wish to expand their knowledge and expertise beyond the basic methods courses. Students also may obtain a CLAD certificate or clear credential along with the master's degree. Also, the core courses for this degree meet the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing requirements for continuing in-service professional development for all teachers. A specialization in Curriculum and Instruction has been provided for those who see the need to change and develop school and college curricula and teaching practice. Other specializations facilitate the application of the core content to areas such as adult education/community college, educational technology, or bilingual cross-cultural linguistic studies. This degree enables students to obtain the intellectual and professional expertise that interrelates theory and practice and promotes lifelong learning.
