Program Information

Degree Offered

MA Indo-Tibetan Buddhism with Language

Program Description:

The Master of Arts in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism with Language surveys Indian and Tibetan Buddhism with an emphasis on textual and meditative lineage's, integrating study and practice. Faculty includes western trained academics and acharyas (master teachers) steeped in Tibetan Buddhist practice as well as English-speaking Tibetan lamas extensively trained in their own traditions. This program includes an additional 16-credit training in either Sanskrit or in both classical and modern Tibetan.

The approach of these programs is nonsectarian, scholarly and critical, relying on the best of contemporary Western and traditional Buddhist scholarship.
