Program Information
Degree Offered
M.A. - International Environmental Policy
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The Master of Arts in International Environmental Policy (MAIEP) curriculum is designed around the principle that a professional program in environmental policy must focus on acquisition of the functional "tools and skills" needed for employment in environmental policy. Thus, the courses include the scientific foundations of environmental policy, environmental economics, international environmental law and policy, environmental impact assessment and environmental conflict management. Students may also choose from a broad array of electives taught both by faculty in the IEP field, as well as those with expertise in nonprofit management, program evaluation, trade and development. Use of computer based geographic analysis and database management tools intensifies a real world look at current alternative approaches to the issues.
