Program Description:

The Department of Reading and Educational Media prepares literacy educators to meet present and future literacy demands in a political and social democracy. We realize that the diverse backgrounds of individuals in society today require educators who understand the impact of multicultural backgrounds upon student learning. The department therefore attempts to provide students with experiences which help them to understand the moral and ethical dimensions of teaching and to recognize and respect the perceptions and views of the individual learner.
