Program Description:
Unique research strengths of the department include (1) the biology, genetics, and biochemistry of diseases of small grains, (2) the biological control of weeds and pathogens, (3) plant breeding and genetics emphasizing both traditional molecular approaches, and (4) adaptations of life to extreme environments. We also have an active teaching program in horticulture and landscape design.
