Program Description:
The program grants the M.S. degree in Counseling with options in elementary school counseling, secondary school counseling and community agency counseling. The Counseling program requirements for elementary and secondary counseling fulfill the professional counseling course requirements for permanent school counselor certification in the State of Missouri. Students interested in settings other than public schools receive the same degree and frequently seek positions in various community agencies; however, without a teaching certificate, they are not eligible to be school counselors.
