MA - Infant Mental Health
Format: Campus
Program Description:
A leader in the field of early childhood education, Mills College is continuing this tradition of innovation through a master's degree in infant mental health. This emerging field centers on early childhood relationships and is founded on the principle that early relationship-based intervention can help children at risk and their families prevent future developmental problems.
The Mills Infant Mental Health Program prepares students to become practitioners or researchers that specialize in working with children from birth through age five. The curriculum focuses on psychology, research methodology, and normative development, which prepares students to work in settings such as pediatric clinics, childcare, classrooms, social service agencies, regional centers, and children's homes.
