Program Information

Degree Offered

MHPE - Master of Health Professions Education

Format: Campus, Online

Program Description:

MHPE program is designed for current and future healthcare professionals who are looking to enhance their teaching skills. The MHPE program combines face-to-face classes with online learning for three of the four required courses, with the remaining course online. Each quarter, face-to-face sessions are scheduled during the evening and two Saturdays per quarter, with additional elective courses available online. The flexible schedule allows the 42 credit hour program to be completed in two to three years with a minimum of six on-campus classes.

A blended approach has been described as “. . . the best of both worlds, offering the convenience of all-online courses without the complete loss of face-to-face contact” (The Chronicle of Higher Education, 2002). Our blended format allows students to learn at their convenience, while also providing a supportive classroom environment and opportunities to interact with instructors and peers.

Accreditation:

MWU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the North Central Association
