Program Description:

Our program offers the opportunity to examine American culture in all its diversity from an interdisciplinary perspective. While the disciplines of history, literature, material culture, and museum studies have traditional appeal, we encourage our students to combine disciplines in imaginative ways by drawing upon the resources of the entire university. Our selected fields of study are African American studies, American Education, American History, American Literature, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Ethnic Studies, Ethnomusicology, History of Art, Jewish American Studies, Native American Studies, Media Studies, Museum Studies and Material Culture, Philosophy, Political Science, Popular Culture, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, Women's Studies.
