M.S.- Teaching Literacy
Program Description:
The Master of Science Degree in Teaching Literacy is designed for students seeking professional certification in the teaching certificate they presently hold.
The literacy programs are designed for the needs of practicing professionals, and are based on the standards of the International Reading Association and the New York State Education Department. The goal of the learner-centered literacy programs is to prepare educators to apply their knowledge of theories, current research, and exemplary teaching practices to meet the challenges of struggling learners. Learn strategies for developing an awareness that speaking, listening, reading, and writing are interrelated and how these skills impact a child's literacy development. The faculty provides guidance and support.
