Physicians trained to be competent clinicians and carry out research in one of the rapidly advancing areas of the biomedical sciences are in a unique position to make significant contributions to knowledge in the medical sciences. The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the Medical College of Wisconsin is designed for students who have an interest in clinical medicine and in research in the biomedical sciences. The program provides an opportunity for highly motivated students to complete a course of study leading to both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees and to obtain in-depth research experience as well as clinical skills.
