Program Description:
The Division of Biostatistics offers a PhD designed for students with strong undergraduate preparation in mathematics. Curriculum includes a sound foundation in statistical theory and applications, and substantial training in statistical consulting, computing and software packages. Degree requirements are typically completed in five years. Student participate in collaborative projects with MCW centers including Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research, Center for Patient Care and Outcomes Research and Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and in areas including genetics, medical imaging, clinical trials, and pharmacologic modeling. Faculty research areas included survival analysis, statistical genetics, Bayesian statistics, multiple comparisons and clinical trials.
