Program Description:
The Department of Plant Science offers graduate programmes leading to the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in basic and applied plant science.Within the broad areas of Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Genetics, and Botany, field and research facilities are available for research investigations in plant breeding, crop physiology, crop management, plant ecology, the epidemiology and biology of plant diseases, the physiology of diseased plants, plant virology, biosystematics, recombinant DNA technology, mycology, weed biology, tissue culture, and plant biochemistry.
