Fields of interest in the Department are Mediaeval, Renaissance, Reformation, Baroque, Enlightenment, Sturm und Drang, Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism, Women's, and Twentieth Century Literatures. In addition, research is also being conducted in Emblematics, Pragmatism, Rhetoric, and Sino-German Literary Recetion.
