Program Description:

The Department supports a wide range of field, laboratory, and theoretical research in many disciplines of the Earth and Planetary Sciences, including: environmental geochemistry, hydrology,economic geology, petrology, experimental geochemistry tectonics, geophysics, and planetology. Our focus is the analytical application of the principles of the pure sciences to the rich problems of the real Earth in a planetary context.
