Program Description:
This Master's program prepares individuals to function as professional mental health counselors. It is an excellent choice for those interested in working in such settings as hospitals, mental health agencies, residential treatment centers, substance abuse programs, colleges, government agencies, elder care facilities, and faith communities. This is a two-year program with core requirements in areas such as lifespan human development, counseling theory and technique, diversity and cross cultural psychology, community consultation, and professional issues and ethics. Opportunities to pursue specialized training are available. As with our other programs, there is an intensive clinical training component each year of the program.
