Certificate in Domestic Violence Advocacy
Program Description:
In association with Northwest Family Life www.northwestfamilylife.org - Mars Hill Graduate School offers training that meets the requirements of Washington State to work with perpetrators of domestic violence. Washington Administrative Code 388-60 requires that Direct Treatment Staff be trained as follows: A minimum of thirty hours of training about domestic violence from an established domestic violence victim programA minimum of thirty hours of training from an established domestic violence perpetrator treatment services programAt least 250 hours of experience providing services to domestic violence perpetrators and domestic violence victims.Note: MHGS does not offer the internship/experience portion of the WAC 388-60 requirement. Upon completion of the 60 seat hours of Direct Treatment Staff Training, Northwest Family Life will award a "certificate of completion".Additional courses will be offered by Mars Hill Graduate School for graduate credit to address domestic violence and related issues. These courses can be taken as electives within the existing MHGS degree programs or by a non degree student or for continuing education credit (CEU).
