Program Description:
Mansfield University is proud to announce the opening of a new track within its Master of Arts in Music program. The Collaborative Piano MA is designed for two groups of pianists: Professional accompanists who seek to enhance their skills and increase their marketability through an advanced degree in their field and recently graduated pianists who are interested in developing the skills necessary to pursue a career in chamber music and accompanying.
Other points of interest: Graduate Assistantships are available. GA's include a tuition waiver and a bi-weekly stipend in return for accompanying assignments as determined by departmental need. The M.A. can be completed in one year of residency and summer on-line courses. The M.A. prepares pianists for collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists with coursework that addresses the specific needs of both genres. The program allows you to work with accomplished musicians and teachers; Mansfield's piano, instrumental and vocal faculty are known throughout the region, the country, and the world.
