Program Description:

The mission of the Religious Studies Department is to assist students in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for maturation of Judeo-Christian humanistic values, appreciation for ecumenical diversity, and application of critical thinking and responsible moral decision making through the pursuit of truth and commitment to the service of others.

The Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry program is designed to prepare students for service in the various fields of ministry. Coursework is outlined to enhance the skills and awareness necessary to fulfill the obligations of pastoral ministry. Students are engaged in learning through their cooperation and communication with established agencies and individuals already in place.

The program applies principles of Christian humanism and the Franciscan philosophy to the spiritual, social, and needs of those served, forming the foundation of Madonna University's spiritual values.

Eligibility Requirements:

Two completed recommendations forms from professionals familiar with a candidate’s academic and/or ministry abilities. Statement of purpose. Interview with Program Director An interview with the Director of the program to discuss a candidate’s relevant past experience and future professional goals.

1. Official school records including subject studied, grades and degrees earned, graduation dates and copy of diploma - Students are required to submit an official transcript of credits from each institute, college, or university attended. - applicants may be required to submit transcript evaluation result by World Education Services (WES) or Education Credential Evaluation (ECE) 2. Official test results indicating English proficiency. - TOEFL score of at least 550 (Paper-Based), 79-80 (Internet Based); MELAB score of 77, or IELTS score of 6.5.; - Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be required to take an English placement test administered by Madonna University. Based on the test result, students may be considered for conditional admission and be required to take English language classes. - This requirement is waived for applicants from countries where English is the native language.
