Program Description:

Loyola's graduate program in Research Methodology is the only program of its kind in the Chicago area. It offers the MA, MEd and PhD degrees. Students are prepared to critically examine the design and analysis of research and evaluation in education and the social sciences. The programs of study focus on the philosophical and ethical bases of research in the social sciences and develop expertise in a variety of research methodologies. The design of the program allows students great latitude in developing an individualized program emphasizing a broad range of research methods, including both quantitative and qualitative methods. Our students bring a variety of experiences to their classes, informed by an interest in conducting research in education and the social sciences.
