Program Description:

Lenoir-Rhyne University offers the opportunity for Masters level study in Education. Educators with any current North Carolina license may build skills in leadership, professional academic skills, and understandings of contemporary issues in education. The Masters of Arts in Education also provides educators with a path to additional licensure in

• English as a Second Language Education

• Birth to Kindergarten Education

• Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education

These specific licensure areas provide additional opportunities for employment in an increasingly competitive market. In the course of earning a license in an additional area of certification, students in the Masters level education study are oriented to contemporary issues in education and the diverse needs of students in the schools. Study of methods that enhance the learning of diverse learners enables teachers to better understand and address the needs of students with diverse language learning profiles. Teachers learn how to adapt and accommodate the standard course of study for such children.
