Program Description:

Leiden University has a long tradition in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Already at the end of the Nineteenth centurion academic training for Pharmacists was set up. Since the last 20 years however, the emphasis has shifted from this traditional Pharmacy education to a research-oriented training in the Pharmaceutical Sciences: the students are trained for a research career in Drug Research and Development and not for a career as a practicing pharmacist. This research orientation in the teaching program is unique in Europe and enjoys a high international profile. The CBPS graduates are highly in demand in the Pharmaceutical Industry or in other research institutes. An extensive worldwide network of research contacts of CBPS allows students to obtain research experience abroad during their MSc or PhD studies.
