Program Description:

Studying Biology at Leiden will raise a student's awareness that this subject is much broader and more diverse than is first thought. It provides ample opportunities for crossing borders with other science areas. Biology is part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which also covers mathematics, computer science, physics, astronomy, chemistry, biopharmaceutical sciences, life science and technology and sustainable molecular science and technology. In the last two fields, intensive cooperation takes place with Delft University of Technology. One of the central themes in the faculty is Biosciences, in which the above mentioned disciplines work together to understand life, its characteristics and its origin.
