Program Description:

A cross-disciplinary program utilizing the expertise of the College of Engineering and the College of Management, the MEM program’s curriculum of 36 semester hours combines graduate courses offered by both colleges. This unique blend of engineering and management helps students develop advanced skills in technical areas, as well as strong leadership and management skills.

Engineers in industry and other technical professionals will find the MEM program is an opportunity to enhance their technical knowledge and develop the leadership skills necessary to be successful in the management of existing and emerging technologies. Today, management and leadership abilities are not just for business students. For engineering students, the MEM is a natural extension of the College of Engineering undergraduate programs. The lessons learned in the MEM program are highly regarded – if not required – for successful engineering project management. While many students completing their undergraduate degree, will benefit from this graduate-level program, engineers already in industry will find the program is perfect for working professionals. This program also offers faculty with increased research and consulting opportunities.

The MEM program endeavors to prepare students to manage technical and engineering functions. The MEM program also gives students greater opportunities to interact with professionals from other engineering disciplines and participate in applied research projects. The program is geared towards technology professionals with diversified backgrounds working in program management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, production control, management information systems, and various other technical fields.
