Program Description:

The program is designed to stress the commonalties between the various humanities disciplines; in fact, it seeks to inquire into those commonalties, to make them more conscious and articulate. It retains the textual focus of traditional disciplinary humanities study, but, by incorporating a community practicum requirement, extends the definition of text to include both the disciplinary structures themselves and the structure of social organizations in the community.
