Program Description:

The LCAD MFA program mission is committed to creating a supportive and stimulating environment for representational painters. Each semester is conceived as a comprehensive experience and involves a combination of personal work in dedicated studios, studio electives focusing on specific representational topics, regular contact with visiting artists, focused discussions of contemporary culture, aesthetics, and courses on art historical issues that pertain to representation. LCAD is among only three fully accredited MFA granting institutions of the 175 nationwide offering study devoted exclusively to contemporary realist drawing and painting.
