A basic human birthright is our ability to communicate. Speech-language pathologists help people who have never developed, or lost this ability due to illness or injury. Speech-language pathologists care for patients of all ages with communication disorders. They assess, treat, and help to prevent speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and related disorders.
