Program Description:
The aquatic ecology specialization provides opportunities to study basic and applied topics in lakes, streams, and wetlands. Faculty and students in aquatic ecology interact with researchers from Chemistry, Geology, and Geography through the interdisciplinary Water Resources Research Institute. Students in the systematic/evolutionary biology specialization have the opportunity to study higher plants and other organisms. Traditional and molecular biology approaches are used to study flora and fauna in a variety of environments.
