Program Description:

The Master of Science (M.S.) with a major in Applied Exercise and Health Science (AEHS) is an exciting new Graduate degree program which blends theory with practical application through community-based experiential opportunities and laboratory-based instruction to prepare future leaders in the exercise and health science field. Program highlights include:

•A 36 semester hour program providing students the opportunity to focus in either Exercise Physiology or Worksite and Community Health Promotion.
•The program features a choice among three capstone experiences: 1) Administrative Field Experience, 2) Master’s Project, or 3) a research Thesis.
•Enrollment available on a full-time or part-time basis with classes one day per week in the early evening.
•Program is delivered in a new state-of-the-art Health Sciences building which provides study areas, computer labs, a Graduate lounge, and private group meeting areas for students.
•Graduate Research Assistant opportunities are available working with individual faculty members, in one of our research labs, or as an activity course instructor.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), KSU offers 70 bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree programs including undergraduate degrees in education, health, business, the humanities, the arts, science and math.

Eligibility Requirements:

1.Baccalaureate degree in Exercise and Health Science or equivalent from a nationally accredited institution with a major GPA of at least 3.0.
2.Applicants from other disciplines or related fields (e.g., physical education, athletic training, health education) will be considered for admission with evidence of foundational coursework in exercise physiology, personal/community health, and statistics/research methods.
3.Course deficiencies can be satisfied by completing one or more undergraduate courses prior to admission to the Graduate Program.
4.International applicants are subject to the University’s requirements for admission.
5.A minimum combined total score of 800 in the verbal and quantitative categories and a minimum of 3.5 in the analytical writing category on the GRE.
6.A formal statement of personal goals for the program.
7.Additional documentation may be required prior to admission.
