Program Description:
The personality-social field of specialization was introduced under the direction of E. Jerry Phares and Franz Samelson in 1964. Since that time, more than 43 students have completed their Ph.D.'s in the department. Most of them have chosen academic careers and are teaching in colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad. Several others have arranged post-doctoral training in psychotherapy and are in private practice, and a few work in government or private industry.
