Program Description:

The objective of this program is to impart special and comprehensive knowledge of the arts and culture through historical studies with emphasis on fine arts to enable our students to contribute to the cultural development of society.

The program concentrates on three areas: Japan, the Orient, and the West, and offer courses for a thorough historical study of the arts and culture of each area. A field of study is also available in folk art and culture, in which students conduct research on the origin and significance of the traditional culture of Japan.

The students completing this program possess a good command of foreign languages and can become qualified curators of art galleries and museums. The students are expected to have a strong international point of view.
