M.A.- Jewish Education, Ed.D.- Jewish Education

Format: Campus, Online

Program Description:

The William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education is America's largest pluralistic school of Jewish education.
The Davidson School offers a master's degree in Jewish Education, with both full-time and distance learning programs, as well as a doctor of education, with full-time, part-time, and week-end programs.

Located on New York City’s Upper West Side, The Davidson School prepares Jewish educational leaders through research, professional training and curriculum development, thereby fostering the transformation of Jewish education in North America. After completing one year of generalized requirements and electives, each student chooses to study in one of our three concentrations: Day School Teaching, Synagogue Educational Leadership, or Jewish Experiential Education. We also offer specializations in Early Childhood Education and Diversity/Special Needs Education through our consortium with Teachers College and a specialization in Non-Profit Management through our consortium with the NYU Wagner School of Public Service. These specializations can be added to anyone’s program, irrespective of concentration.

Additionally, The Davidson School addresses the issue of Jewish identity and the place of Israel in the Diaspora by sending every first-year student to Israel over the winter semester break. The Visions and Voices of Israel Seminar is a three-week-long educational experience in which our students are confronted with the questions about Israel with which every contemporary Jewish educator must engage.
