Program Description:

The Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in European Union Policy Studies is a unique and exciting one-year 33-credit graduate program resulting in an MA degree in Political Science from James Madison University. Students will pursue a comprehensive and integrated course of study that includes academic coursework, academic study tours in Florence, Brussels, Strasbourg and other European cities, optional intensive language training, and internship/practicum experience and/or an intensive research project.

The program is entirely unique in the United States in that it is intensive, taught entirely in Europe, and has an applied policy focus. It is cross-disciplinary and innovative in design, with an emphasis on the three policy foci within the EU: economic and monetary policy (including monetary, trade and industrial policy); justice and home affairs (including health, aging, immigration and education); and technology policy (including science, information security and environmental policy).

International Student Requirements:

TOEFL Exam - TOEFL scores must be sent directly from Educational Testing Services to The Graduate School. Our institution code is 5392. A score of 570 or better is required for the Paper-Based Test; a score of 88 or better is required for the Internet-Based Test. Credential Evaluation that reflects completion of baccalaureate degree Financial Declaration International students must enter the US on a valid non immigrant visa. Application Deadlines: If student currently resides outside the US: Allow 12 months from the time of application for admission to the semester that the applicant requests to enroll at JMU. If student currently resides within the US: Allow 6 months from the time of application for admission to the semester that the applicant requests to enroll at JMU.
