Program Description:

In addition to the School of Health Sciences and Human Performances' five year master of science program in occupational therapy, the School also offers a professional entry-level master's of science degree which can be completed in just over two years.

Accreditation:

The professional entry-level master's program, like the five year master's program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and has been approved by the New York State Department of Education.

Eligibility Requirements:

A completed bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0

Completion of the following prerequisite coursework with a grade of C or higher is required for admission:
- Biology (3 credits)
- Anatomy and Physiology (3 credits)
- General psychology (3 credits)
- Developmental psychology or human development (3 credits)
- Abnormal psychology (3 credits)
- Sociology or anthropology (3 credits)
- Statistics (3 credits)
- Research methods (3 credits)

GRE score

On-campus interview and on-site writing sample

Additional application materials include the following:
- Completed graduate application
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended
- Two letters of recommendation, one preferably from a health care practitioner (two additional letters for a graduate assistantship)*

*Graduate assistantships are available on a competitive basis and consist of a partial tuition scholarship and an additional work stipend.
