Program Description:
While most graduate students in the department of Microbiology do their research on campus, a number of Microbiology graduate students perform their research off-campus at the National Animal Disease Center NADC) or the National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL). Both on and off-campus students routinely specialize in areas of microbiology including, applied microbiology, food microbiology, infectious diseases, soil microbiology, microbial genetics, microbial ecology, or microbial physiology. A thesis or dissertation is required for each of the majors.
