Program Description:
Each Master's degree requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate research and course work and a comprehensive oral examination. The Master of Science degree requires a thesis, while the Master of Engineering degree requires an independent study paper. The Master of Science program is more research oriented; the Master of Engineering program contains more course work in exchange for less research experience.The Doctor of Philosophy degree is strongly research oriented and requires at least 72 semester hours of graduate research and course work plus a dissertation. Doctoral students must also pass a written qualifying examination, written and oral preliminaries, and an oral final examination.
