Program Description:

Aerospace engineering research at Iowa State will help you build skills and knowledge that are literally out of this world! With excellent research facilities and a highly productive faculty, we lay claim to excellence in several important areas of aerospace engineering. The department offers graduate programs in both aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics, with unique research facilities and tools such as micro- and nano- mechanical testing equipment, a tornado/microburst simulator, and a soon-to-be-completed environmental wind tunnel. For students in engineering mechanics, we offer state-of-the-art ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation instrumentation and composite materials fabrication and testing facilities. Research in theoretical aspects is also strong in both programs.
