Program Description:

This popular Masters degree combines academic study with professional educational practice in the context of education through museums and galleries. Students look at influential theories in museum and gallery education; use museum and gallery collections as a basis for curriculum development; interpret heritage sites – for example, gardens, industrial sites and historic buildings; increase their understanding of cultural influences on collections; articulate a rigorous argument for 'learning through culture'; and understand the impact of technology on culture. This programme is normally offered over one year, full-time.
