Program Description:
The Indiana University Microbiology Program is vibrant, well funded and actively growing, offering PhD and Master's Degrees. With outstanding research faculty and a long history of excellence in research and teaching, you will receive rigorous training in a collegial atmosphere. All doctoral students are guaranteed full tuition remission and a competitive stipend for five years. Master's students also receive tuition remission and a stipend for up to two years. Microbiology students pursue thesis research on microorganisms over a wide range of subject areas; including, host-pathogen interactions; cellular development; physiology; genetics; molecular biology; genomics; biochemistry and virology. Numerous laboratories provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research. The educational development of graduate students is fostered through interactive faculty mentoring and coursework designed to provide intensive training for productive scientific careers in academia, industry and government.
