Program Description:

The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy at Indiana University is to demonstrate scholastic excellence in teaching and learning, discover and apply knowledge in research and creative activity, and demonstrate compassionate service in civic engagement. The Department is dedicated to preparing culturally competent autonomous Doctors of Physical Therapy who by their commitment to advance the health and quality of life for all humanity are recognized as leaders among health professionals and the community.

Strengths of the IU DPT Program

•IU DPT graduates have a 100% pass rate on the PT Board Exam (national average is 88%)
•State of the art clinical and basic science research facilities which allow students to engage in ongoing departmental research

Eligibility Requirements:

•Completion of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
•Completion of all or no more than two prerequisites remaining for completion
•Cumulative GPA of 3.2
•Math/Science GPA of 3.2 (includes grades earned in chemistry, physics, human anatomy, human physiology, and statistics)
•Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE). See www.ets.org (you must select Institution Code 1325 for us to receive your test results).
•Completion of Personal Essay included in online application for admission
•Completion of 40 clinical observation hours or work experience recorded on Clinical Observation Experience Form
•Must be from both inpatient and outpatient settings
•A minimum of 20 hours is required in each setting
•Additional hours are encouraged
