Program Description:
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers programs leading to the master of arts in mathematics and master of science in mathematics degrees. A concentration in computer science is available with each of these degrees. In addition, graduate offerings support teacher education and advanced degree programs in other divisions and departments. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is located in Root Hall. Students are offered unlimited access to computing facilities in several microcomputer laboratories across campus operated by the University. In addition, the department operates its own Windows/NT microcomputer laboratory and a laboratory of Unix work stations. The University library holdings in mathematics and computer science consist of a variety of mathematics journals and periodicals as well as numerous books in all areas. There is also a free database search service for graduate students.
