Program Description:
The main focus for the Department's teaching is an MSc course in Engineering and Physical Science in Medicine. The course is full-time for one calendar year, starting in October, and leads to the MSc degree of the University of London and the Diploma of the Imperial College (DIC). It has been offered each year since 1991 and currently has an annual intake of about 30 students. A number of studentships are available. Application for admission to the course should be made to the Admissions Office, Imperial College, LondonSW7 2AZ. It is recognised by the Institution of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, the body responsible for accreditation of clinical scientists and biomedical engineers in the UK. From 1999 the course has had input from the Medical Physics Departments at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. This has allowed an increase in the range of options offered and strengthening of the clinical aspects of the course.
