Degree Offered

M.Sc.- Advanced methods of Taxonomy and Biodiversity

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The Department provides specialised postgraduate training in pest management through a full-time, one-year course leading to the MSc degree of the University of London and the Diploma of the Imperial College (DIC). The course is held at the Department’s campus at Silwood Park, Ascot, where about half of the Biology teaching and research staff work. Built around a central core of common courses in subjects such as pesticide science and integrated pest management and statistics, three specialist options are offered, in Applied Entomology, in Plant Disease and in Biological Control. Each option involves 22 weeks of coursework (approximately 13 weeks of core subjects and nine weeks of specialist options), followed by an 18-week research project. Current courses are listed below but may change in the future. Parts of the programme may be taken on their own as post-experience short courses.
