Program Description:

This program is one of the largest reading programs in Illinois. The curriculum reflects a research-based program that integrates reading and writing; emphasizes a holistic, language-centered approach; and helps teachers support literacy learning in the classroom with a focus on multicultural and at-risk readers. This program will prepare teachers to plan reading and writing curriculum, implement language-centered instructional strategies, and design effective programs of reading and writing assessment.
