Program Description:
Designed for the working adult interested in career advancement or exploring new interests, this interdisciplinary curriculum is flexible and features fall, spring, and summer terms, full- or part-time, primarily evening classes with some options for online learning.

The program offers concentrations in the following fields: humanities, social sciences, visual and performing arts, justice and legal studies, and interdisciplinary studies. Forty credits, including the final thesis or creative project, are required for the degree.
Faculty for the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program are primarily drawn from Hollins permanent faculty. The class sizes through this program are kept small to ensure maximum faculty/student interaction.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants to the program must hold an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. They must provide undergraduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and letter of purpose in pursuing the program in addition to submission of the application and processing fee.

In addition to the regular application requirements, international students are required to provide TOEFL test scores if the native language is not English. Certification of applicant's ability to fund the graduate education and expenses associated with it is required as well.
